Bournemouth's newly-released home shirt for the 2026-27 season has been voted one of the worst kits in Premier League history.

Earlier this month, the Cherries unveiled its range of kits for the upcoming campaign as they prepare to play European football for the first time following their sixth-place finish in England's top flight.

Many fans have welcomed the club's new partnership with Danish sportswear brand Hummel, a company that have created some memorable shirt designs over the years, including Denmark's iconic shirt from 1986.

According to Bournemouth's official website , the new home shirt embraces a classic look that reintroduces the club's iconic wider red and black stripes.

The design also pays tribute to where it all began with a so-called "subtle tonal pattern" inspired by the original 1936 crest, but the placement of the large front-of-shirt sponsor Vitality has been criticised by some.

One fan commented on the design, saying: "Surely to god Bournemouth change the design of the sponsor on their home kit, seen so many comments on it and not one of them positive. It’s absolutely hideous."

A second wrote: "Imagine going into your first ever European campaign with that," and a third commented: "I think that Bournemouth kit isn’t too bad. Just the sponsor colour that ruins it. If it was red or gold I think it would have been nice."

In fact, according to a post by Footy Headlines , the Bournemouth kit has been given a 1.92/5 rating by fans, which puts it in the top three worst-rated Premier League kits of all time.

Interestingly, Manchester City 's third kit from the 2025-26 campaign has been voted the worst with a score of 1.77/5, while Aston Villa 's home kit from the 2008-09 season finishes a close second with a 1.86/5 rating.

Some were surprised to see Villa's kit in the standings. One fan wrote: "Why is that 2008/09 Aston Villa kit in 2nd place?!" and a second commented: "How just how did that top make the top 2 genuinely confused, we loved that top."

A third added: "I like to think I have some knowledge of football shirts - especially Aston Villa ones. There’s absolutely no way one of the best Villa shirts ever is 2nd on a list of the worst Premier League kits ever."
