Champions Shanghai playoff draw revealed

With the group stage now wrapping up, the opening playoff matches for Champions Shanghai have been revealed with an on-stage draw show.

Teams that went 2-0 and finished as the No. 1 seed in their groups were matched up against teams that went 2-1 and finished as No. 2 seeds. Inter-regional matchups were allowed in the opening round, but teams could not be drawn to play on the same side of the eight-team bracket as another team from the same group.

The playoffs are sure to bring some intrigue, with a handful of eye-catching matchups. 100T and G2 will match up for the third time this year in a series that G2 leads 5-4 all-time, while Vitality and Nongshim will meet for just the second time ever after meeting at EWC earlier this year. NRG and T1 will meet for the first time since 2023, when a core centered around s0m , FiNESSE , and crashies defeated the Korean squad at Masters Tokyo . And finally, LOUD will be searching for its first-ever win over Paper Rex in these playoffs, trying to seek revenge for losses at Masters Madrid and Champions Los Angeles .

The playoffs are set to start on the 7th, with matches being played in the Jing'an Sports Center where the group stage was played. Finals weekend, hosting the top four of the event, will be held at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai, with a capacity of 18,000.
