BC.Game explains Valve exception after Major eligibility reversal

BC.Game CEO Ali “Ako” Muhanned has described the events that saw his team first removed from Major contention and then restored a day later. The reversal followed Valve’s adjustment to its rules on regional changes, which initially affected BC.Game’s eligibility for the competition.

Muhanned said the team’s case was presented directly to Valve with help from Milan “Striker” Švejda, who clarified the process and helped establish contact. BC.Game argued that its circumstances did not reflect the type of regional-system abuse the new rule was intended to prevent, including contract terminations and unfair treatment of players.

The organization told Valve that all of its players are signed to long-term agreements, with its Asian members holding the longest contracts. Muhanned also said the team’s willingness to restart in the Asian VRS, rather than simply return to Europe, demonstrated that BC.Game intends to remain in the region regardless of whether it reaches the Major.

That decision was closely tied to Tyson “asap” Paterson. Returning to Europe would have meant removing the player, something Muhanned said he rejected during the call with Valve after promising to keep Paterson on the roster. He added that BC.Game can survive without Major qualification and wanted the team to receive equal and fair treatment.

ColdMath take

BC.Game’s reinstatement preserves its current roster and regional strategy. The decision also keeps Tyson “asap” Paterson in the lineup, while the organization continues building around long-term contracts in Asia.

Its immediate focus is stability: the team can pursue future matches without changing regions or removing a player solely to improve Major eligibility.
