BCGame Keeps Asian Region and Can Continue Its Major Qualification Push
Valve allowed BCGame to retain its Asian region after changing roster eligibility rules ahead of PGL Major Singapore 2026.

BCGame CEO Ali Ako Muhanned said Valve had confirmed that the CS2 team would remain assigned to the Asian region. The decision means the roster can continue competing for an invitation to the major. Muhanned thanked Valve for reviewing the situation and acknowledged the support the team received from the wider CS community during the dispute.
On October 6, Valve changed the rules used to determine a team’s region. Under the new regulations, a roster must compete in a region for at least three months to be registered there. The developers specified that the requirement also applies to PGL Major Singapore 2026, putting BCGame’s participation at risk after the team signed three players and moved from Europe to Asia.
Valve allowed BCGame to keep its regional status the following day. WW Team and Sashi Esport also sought regional changes after signing Asian players and changing one player’s nationality, but it remains unclear whether they will be eligible to compete for a major place. BCGame still has no guaranteed slot and must earn its opportunity through competition.
ColdMath take
BCGame remains eligible to pursue a major invitation from the Asian region, but the team has not secured a place. Its next matches will determine whether it can turn the ruling into tournament qualification.
Pick an outcome. Trade it beside the story.
