A marathon three-mapper went the way of the karrigan-led team.
Falcons locked in their ESL Pro League S24 playoff spot by defeating Natus Vincere in a three-map series (Inferno 13-6, Anubis 15-19, Mirage 13-8).
The win secures a 3-1 group stage campaign for Finn "karrigan" Andersen and company, who now await their opponents in the Spodek Arena, while Natus Vincere drop to the 2-2 pool in what will be their last tournament life.
The match began on Inferno, where Natus Vincere put up a 6-6 offensive half before going missing on the CT-side. Falcons won seven straight in the second half, led by Nikola "NiKo" Kovač 's 2.74-rated performance, and breezed to a 13-6 victory.
Anubis was a much closer map despite Falcons racking up eight rounds on the unfavored CT side, with Natus Vincere putting up a valiant defense of their own. That proved enough to force overtime, where Natus Vincere put their first-half woes behind them to take the map 19-15 and force a third.
NiKo and Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov then came back firing on the Mirage decider, leading Falcons ' charge towards a 13-8 victory with 26 and 19 kills, respectively.
Pick an outcome. Trade it beside the story.
