G2's skipper says r1nkle will show his best CS when the team is playing better.

G2 's signing of Artem "r1nkle" Moroz was intended to add an extra dose of aggression and unpredictability to their lineup.

But so far, r1nkle has been fairly mellow statistically. In G2 so far, he has survived 43% of rounds, and has only posted 0.57 KPR.

Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač has frequently praised the Ukrainian's mechanical ability, and he has not lost faith in his AWPer turning his form around.

"We cannot change everything to make r1nkle comfortable fully," he explained. "But we are trying to implement his things and to listen to him."

huNter- went on: "He needs to be patient. In the first one minute of the round, if he doesn't do anything, if he's just holding flashes, after that, it can be 4v4, 3v3s where he can be good. That's why m0NESY is good. That's why ZywOo is good."

Okay, huNter-, back to winning form. How did it feel on the server today?

It felt good, even though we didn't play against the best team. But obviously winning against anyone in tournaments, it's always good.

What do you think went wrong in the first few days? Because you came into this from the final in China and pretty much making playoffs every event. What do you think was behind the slow start?

We had a lot of, as you already mentioned, this China event, and before that we had two or three events in a row, then we had some days off to reset because we were destroyed after China. But that's not an excuse. We just, we were not ourselves. We were playing bad overall.

Even today didn't look perfect, but the most important thing is a win. I just hope that this will give us some extra confidence, because if you want to qualify for playoffs, which is our goal for every event, we need to be better than what we showed those three games.

And one of the big talking points around the team has been r1nkle, obviously. I looked into the stats, and you think of him as a very aggressive AWPer, but his survival rate's really high. It's more that his output isn't as high as you might expect. What's the team feeling about r1nkle so far?

We are trying to implement his things and the things he likes to do, together with the things that we had before with SunPayus, because we were not bad with SunPayus. We cannot change everything to make r1nkle comfortable fully. But we are trying to implement his things and to listen to him and to call things that he likes to do overall on both sides, a bit. But obviously, we need to keep some of our old things.

I think he's really good, and he has a bright future, as I already said before. It's just about him getting this confidence back and having a couple of good games individually. But that's not the most important thing. If you are playing good as a team, that's when he will show up as well and when he will show his best CS. But I'm really happy with him so far. We just need to be patient with him and try to help him as much as we can because he's a good listener as well.

And especially on T side, he's got this supportive role. How are you trying to manage that on T side as a caller?

Some maps are harder for AWPers, like for example Ancient and Inferno, it's super hard for AWPers, and in my opinion, they cannot do so many things individually to go for some aggressive peeks because people expect everything, especially on Ancient and Inferno, as I said. But on other maps, we are trying to implement, as I said, some of his things. Even on Ancient and Inferno when he has AWP, we are trying to have some set rounds where he can do some more things.

But he needs to be patient and he needs to be good at clutches and just all the time stay patient, even when he is at the back. First one minute of the round, if he doesn't do anything, if he's just holding flashes, after that, it can be 4v4, 3v3s where he can be good. That's why m0NESY is good. That's why ZywOo is good, and that's what he's trying to learn, and he understands it as well.

And MATYS as well, I think you had a few position changes. Was it Mirage mostly that you're trying to make him a bit more comfortable, and he played really well today. What's the thinking on those position changes? 'Cause obviously as in-game leader, you want to be in the middle of the map, really.

I don't really care, if I know that we'll do something good, like if the change is good and I know for the future it will be better, I'm up for it. It's the coach mostly asking about those things, and I'm up for anything to help the team, and if he thinks that it'll help the team, I will go 100% with it. MATYS is an amazing player. I think everybody knows that his aim, the way he shoots, the way he moves and everything, is amazing, and I want him to bring his confidence back as he had when he joined G2 in the couple of first months, just to get that consistency of form. And that's why we are trying to change some things, to make him comfortable and to make the old MATYS comfortable, the guy who can destroy everyone.

Okay. And just on this event, is it a bit more special that it's in Katowice? How important is it to get to the Spodek? You've won there before.

It doesn't feel like Katowice, to be honest. When I arrived here, hotel and everything around it, it feels like Katowice, but once you start playing this, when you see ESL Pro League, you know, it's just a bit different. I don't know. But still it's Katowice, it's Spodek, it will be a full arena most likely, so obviously our goal is to play in there.

But as I already said at the beginning of the interview, if you want to play there, we really need to show up and do better things, because if we don't, we cannot qualify. We cannot play like we played, especially, for example, against NaVi. Yesterday was a bit better. Today was a bit better, but it needs to be much better if you want to win these big dogs, let's say that way.
