BCGame manager on changes to the qualification rules for the major: “An interesting situation”

BCGame CS2 roster manager Dylan spiroo Lo Vetere spoke about depriving his roster of the opportunity to compete at PGL Major Singapore 2026 due to changes in the VRS rules. He shared his opinion in X.

We took the three best players in the region and signed them one by one with long-term contracts for all three. Then a month before invitations to the Major are issued, we find out about this change, despite the fact that yesterday we were officially classified as an Asian team in the Valve rankings. Meanwhile, another team simultaneously adds two players from Asia and changes the nationality of one of those they already had on their roster. Interesting situation.

BCGame has been active in the European region since opening its CS division in 2024. In 2026, three representatives from Asia gradually joined the team: first, the Mongolians Azbayar Senzu Munkhbold and Ayush mzinho Batbold joined the roster, and at the end of September Tyson asap Paterson from Australia joined the team. This allowed BCGame to change regions and thus have a chance to qualify for the Major as an Asian team.

WW Team and Sashi Esport did a similar thing, but they not only signed representatives from Asia, but also changed the citizenship of one of the current players. After this, Valve changed the rules by which the team's region is determined. According to the new regulations, in order to be linked to another region, the roster must perform in it for at least three months. The CS2 developers clarified that the rules also apply to PGL Major Singapore 2026, so all three teams lost the opportunity to get to the major based on VRS points from Asia.
