The Brazilian side will play The MongolZ for a chance to reach the playoffs.
Having lost their opening EWC match to 9z , paiN met Wildcard in the Group D lower bracket. Both teams secured their map picks, but paiN proved superior on Mirage, turning an 11-1 lead after the CT side into a 13-7 victory.
paiN stormed out to a 6‑0 lead on Inferno to kick off the series before Wildcard staged a turnaround, surging to 10‑6. Unable to lock down their advantage, Wildcard were dragged into overtime after multiple back‑and‑forth rounds, but the NA team's CT‑side performance proved superior as they took their pick 16-12.
saffee turns 2v3 with three AWP kills
Wildcard failed to carry their Inferno momentum over to Nuke and Mirage. After grabbing three rounds on the CT‑side, they lost control of Nuke. Rafael "saffee" Costa produced AWP‑fueled highlights; an incredible triple opened up a bigger advantage for the team, as he went on to post a 2.10 rating on the second map, a one-sided 13-3 affair.
biguzera 1v4 puts paiN on match point
The CT‑side proved favourable for both sides on the third map, Mirage, but paiN opened up an 11-1 before the side switch, and although Wildcard mounted a comeback attempt, a Rodrigo "biguzera" Bittencourt quad‑kill in round 18 broke their momentum and handed paiN match point, which they converted on two rounds later to make it 13-7.
paiN ’s next test in the Group D lower bracket comes against The MongolZ , as the two sides are set to fight for a playoff spot in the do-or-die match.
