Vitality make quick work of Lynn Vision to reach EWC playoffs

The Chinese squad was no match for Vitality in the win-or-go-home match.

ZywOo gave LV no chance with a 2.17 rating in the series Vitality recovered from their upset loss to B8 in the Esports World Cup Group C upper bracket by trouncing Lynn Vision in two quick maps, Dust2 (13-2) and Inferno (13-5), in the lower bracket. This victory puts the Dan "⁠apEX⁠" Madesclaire -led squad in the tournament's top 16, while the Chinese team's journey in Paris has come to an end.

Lynn Vision 's map, Dust2, was first on the docket, and their sentence was nearly a 13-0 humiliation as Vitality put up a wall on the defense. "Leisurely" and "casual" were the descriptors used on the broadcast, as if it were a stroll in the park while LV struggled to put together any semblance of a competitive attack.

Mathieu "⁠ZywOo⁠" Herbaut found himself in a 1v3 situation on the B site with two kills to his name after the switch, and he downed two more before his magazine ran out of bullets while aiming at his third target for the ace clutch. The 13-0 dream died, but it only took Vitality two more rounds to put the map to rest, 13-2.

The beatdown continued on Inferno, where William "⁠mezii⁠" Merriman held on long enough in a 1v3 afterplant situation to allow the bomb to go off in pistols, and ZywOo had a beautiful 1v3 clutch of his own on the way to an 8-4 half.

Vitality won the second pistol round and ran straight to victory, with only a 1v3 retake defense by Lizhi "⁠Starry⁠" Ye standing in the way momentarily as the CTs ended it 13-5.
