Dota 2 gets new Tidehunter Arcana, Drow Ranger Arcana rerun and more in Trove of Terror treasure

Trove of Terror brings a stacked lineup of hero sets including a brand-new Arcana for Tidehunter.

Valve has been busy this morning, rolling out an update for Deadlock alongside a surprise delivery for Dota 2 fans.

The new Dota 2 update introduced a brand-new Arcana for Tidehunter called “Maw of the Megalodon”, adding a new set to the game's highest cosmetic rarity tier after more than two years. The game is also bringing back Drow Ranger’s 2021 Arcana along with additional set styles.

Both Arcanas can be obtained through the Trove of Terror Treasure, which packs 15 new Immortal sets, including a free Persona. Opening a certain number of these chests can also earn players a Mythical Tormentor set and a Legendary Roshan set.

Check out everything in the Trove of Terror Treasure and a breakdown of the new Arcanas below.

What is the new Tidehunter Arcana in Dota 2?

The “Maw of the Megalodon” Arcana for Tidehunter overhauls his appearance into a terrifying prehistoric shark. Instead of his usual dead fish, he now drags around the skeletal remains of Kunkka, his nemesis.

The Tidehunter Arcana comes with three styles:

• Maw of the Megalodon – the default blue-toned shark style
• The Hammer of Maelrawn – a brown-toned hammerhead shark style
• Unfathomable Hunger – a style that gives Tidehunter his familiar green stripes

Custom ability effects have also been added to all of his abilities. Using Gush and Anchor Smash will summon various types of flopping fish at the end of the spells, while Kraken Shell surrounds Tidehunter with a torrent of water. Ravage summons a horde of sharks in the large area of effect.

The Tidehunter Arcana also comes with two new Taunts, revamped icons, new hero animations and sounds, as well as a brand-new cursor pack.
