The Esports Integrity Commission ESIC has temporarily suspended PlayTime mid-laner Herrera Martinez 'DarkMago' Osvaldo Gonzalo and team sporting director Juan David 'Vintage' Angulo Nijo from the pro scene. The information was published on the official website of the commission.
As reported in the ESIC announcement, at the moment 2 PlayTime representatives are not permanently suspended, but only for the duration of an investigation related to the integrity of the competition within the framework of the Esports World Cup 2026. At the same time, a player with a mentor is prohibited from participating not only in the current championship, but also in other tournaments from ESIC partners.
Vintage, as a coach, is subject to separate temporary sanctions: he is not allowed to engage in coaching, management, strategic or any other work with performing teams and players.
ESIC notes that the wines of DarkMago and Vintage have not yet been confirmed. Both defendants are aware of the interim measures, and also spoke with representatives of the commission and were given the opportunity to provide materials related to the investigation.
Previously, the elimination match between PlayTime and Vici Gaming at the Esports World Cup 2026 was postponed due to an investigation. The meeting is due to take place today at 14:00. It is still unknown who will replace DarkMago in this match.
