Real Madrid monitor McTominay as Chelsea consider De Jong
Real Madrid are tracking Scott McTominay and Michael Olise, while Chelsea are exploring a move for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

Real Madrid are following Scott McTominay’s situation at Napoli, where the 29-year-old Scotland midfielder is discussing his contract. The Spanish club could pursue him at the end of the season. A return to Manchester United appears unlikely, with the Old Trafford side focusing on younger additions to its squad.
Michael Olise is also on Madrid’s radar, although Bayern Munich want to keep the 24-year-old France winger beyond his current agreement, which runs until 2029. Olise is expected to remain in Germany unless Real Madrid make a move. Manchester United have offered 16-year-old attacking midfielder JJ Gabriel a scholarship deal; if he leaves for an overseas club, United may receive only £350,000.
Chelsea are interested in 29-year-old Frenkie de Jong, with the Barcelona and Netherlands midfielder viewed as a possible delayed replacement for Enzo Fernandez following his deadline-day transfer to Manchester City. Liverpool retain a £59.5m buyback option on 23-year-old Bayer Leverkusen defender Jarell Quansah, but the England international is reportedly hesitant about returning to Anfield amid interest from Real Madrid and Chelsea.
Juventus are uncertain about 24-year-old Germany striker Nick Woltemade, currently on loan from Newcastle, and are considering Monaco and United States forward Folarin Balogun, 25, as an alternative. Newcastle and Everton are both tracking 27-year-old Brazil midfielder Gabriel Sara, who spent two seasons at Norwich before joining Galatasaray. Hull City are close to signing 18-year-old Kayserispor goalkeeper Deniz Donmezer for £1.5m.
ColdMath take
McTominay’s future at Napoli could become a key midfield decision after the season, while Manchester United appear to be moving in a younger direction.
Chelsea and Real Madrid are monitoring experienced options, but no move has been completed.
