Rabbi Matondo joins Hibernian until the end of the season
Wales winger Rabbi Matondo has signed for Hibernian, with the club holding an option to extend the deal by another year.

Rabbi Matondo has joined Hibernian until the end of the season, with an option to extend the agreement for another year. The 26-year-old Wales international, formerly of Rangers, had been training on trial at Easter Road before becoming Marink Reedijk’s first signing since he replaced David Gray as manager last month.
Matondo left Norway’s Brann in August after five months with the club. His career also includes spells at Schalke, Stoke City and Cercle Brugge, while he spent part of his nearly four-year Rangers stay on loan at Hannover.
The winger made 70 appearances for Rangers, with roughly two thirds coming in the Scottish Premiership. He scored eight goals, all but one in the top division, including one against Hibernian. His latest Wales appearance came last year, while his only international goal arrived in 2025 during a 3-1 win over Kazakhstan. Reedijk said Matondo had impressed at the club’s La Manga camp and would add pace, directness and danger in wide areas.
ColdMath take
Matondo gives Hibernian an experienced wide option for the remainder of the campaign. His arrival is also the first opportunity for Reedijk to shape the squad since taking charge.
The club will assess his impact in upcoming Scottish Premiership matches before deciding whether to activate the additional-year option.
