Legacy have made the playoffs of try's debut event Legacy have completed the top 16 of Esports World Cup by taking out regional rivals MIBR , fending off second half comebacks on both Nuke and Inferno to secure their spot.
Legacy ensured a good start to the series thanks to a dominant Nuke CT side, taking advantage of a thin MIBR playbook that relied too much on Upper bombsite hits and bringing a 9-3 lead into the second half.
Legacy win near-impossible 2v4
When the sides switched MIBR 's defense began in equally promising fashion, as Legacy 's individual form evaporated and they failed to find any openings in their defaults. Eventually Eduardo "dumau" Wolkmer led the way with a bruising, boisterous run through Hut into the A site, and with a continuation of the more direct approach, Legacy closed out the map.
MIBR will be thankful they won their CT pistol on Inferno, as it was about all they could muster in the first half. Legacy completely outclassed their opposition, both as individuals and on a tactical level, once again granting them a strong advantage by halftime.
Once again MIBR began to mount a comeback in the second half, Legacy 's aggressive early buying not helping their economy, but Legacy eventually found their feet to comfortably closed the map and the series.
