Aurora coach said the team got exactly the players it wanted

Aurora Gaming CS2 coach Ashley ashhh Battier told how the new roster was formed. Battier shared his thoughts in an interview with the .org portal.

[Question: “There was a lot of talk about which three would remain from the previous Aurora roster. Can you talk about that and, above all, why you decided to keep these three Turkish players?”] I think it would have been stupid of me to immediately take full control of the roster, because the management knew the players much better than I did. We discussed a lot about what decisions would be the most logical and who could be hired. As a result, we came to the conclusion that these three players are the ones we should work on first, and we can find good options for the remaining positions. So I think it came out as a mixture of different factors: they were trying to figure out what would work best in the long term. Then MAJ3R came along and said, "Look, I've been doing this for a long time. Maybe now is the right time for me to step away a little bit too." In the end, everything came together well. I said, “I think this person would be a good fit for us, but this one might work too,” and in the end we found a common option. [Question: “How many candidates were there to replace the two players?”] Fortunately, we were able to get exactly the players we were really after. In this sense, everything went well. There were other options for the position that we considered, but then decided that this particular option made the most sense. I think now every player in the squad has great potential and many strengths. We're very happy with who we took and in some ways we were lucky that the players we wanted were available.

After the end of IEM Cologne Major 2026, Aurora left Engin MAJ3R Kupeli, Chaner Soulfly Kesichi and Chezgin Fabre Kalaychi. The new members of the team were Battier, Jimpphat Salo and Damjan Kyxsan Stoilkovski. The roster made its debut at BLAST Bounty Summer 2026, but failed to qualify for the main stage of the championship, finishing in 17-32 place.
