Envy’s ion explores options ahead of the 2027 season

Envy have given Ayan “ion” Rastogi permission to explore new opportunities ahead of 2027. The Indian player is available for a starting role and can compete at the highest level on Controller, Duelist or Sentinel. The move leaves the North American organization, ranked ninth in the region, with only one original RANKERS player and its head coach remaining.

ion joined RANKERS before VCL 25: NA Stage 1, replacing nightz. With Inspire, canezerra, Eggsterr and P0PPIN, the lineup quickly established itself in tier two. Envy later returned to Valorant by signing the roster, and the team made a deep Americas Ascension run before defeating TSM to win the tournament and earn VCT places.

VCT age rules then forced Envy to bench ion and canezerra, with keznit and Rossy taking their spots. Since those restrictions applied only to the VCT main stage, ion moved to Azure Dragon Gaming for Challengers North America ACE Stage 3. ADG finished 3-4 in Swiss and missed the playoffs. ion had mainly played Controller for RANKERS and Envy, while showing his Duelist mechanics with ADG.

Envy’s rebuild is now centered on Eggsterr and head coach Stunner, while ion can seek a new 2027 project. His role flexibility gives prospective teams options for both control and entry responsibilities.

Azure Dragon Gaming’s 3-4 Swiss finish means ion enters the market without a recent playoff qualification, but his Ascension title run remains the clearest measure of his top-level experience.
