Aurora reach EPL Season 24 semi-finals after 2-0 win over 1win

Aurora opened the ESL Pro League Season 24 playoffs with a 2-0 victory over 1win at Spodek Arena. The Turkish-majority lineup took Dust2 13-9 before closing out its own Anubis pick 13-8. Jimi “Jimpphat” Salo led the series statistically with a 1.59 rating, giving Aurora a strong start to the playoff bracket.

Aurora built an 8-4 halftime advantage on Dust2 after Ali “Wicadia” Haydar Yalçın and Jimpphat answered an opening triple from Artem “ArtFr0st” Kharitonov. 1win won the second pistol and narrowed the gap, but could not level the score after losing an important round against deagles. Ismailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş rescued a stalled A execute, while Özgür “woxic” Eker finished the map with a 1v2 clutch for 13-9.

Anubis was more one-sided. Wicadia opened the map with a triple-kill using dualies, and Aurora allowed only two isolated rounds before reaching double digits at halftime. 1win briefly threatened a recovery after winning the second pistol, but Aurora answered with consecutive rounds, including a 1v1 clutch from woxic despite being knifed. Three further rounds from 1win were not enough, as Aurora ended the map with a fast A hit on a forcebuy round. Aurora will now face the winner of Vitality versus PARIVISION in the semi-finals.

ColdMath take

Aurora have secured a semi-final place and will next meet either Vitality or PARIVISION. The series also showed strong contributions from Jimpphat, Wicadia, XANTARES and woxic across both maps.
